We’re Getting Married!

Our story began back in high school at a summer camp called Launch Leadership. We first met there as freshmen and later returned as volunteer staff members during our senior year. That year, we became best friends—calling each other nightly, writing letters, visiting whenever we could, and showing up for each other’s events and graduation parties. We built a true friendship that only grew stronger over time—until we finally admitted there was something more between us. Dom had actually had a crush on Peytie from the very beginning, but he didn’t think he had a chance. So, he played the long game—staying close, showing up, and slowly winning her heart with his sweet, thoughtful nature. Peytie always says it was Dom’s persistence—his intentional pursuit, and the effort he put into making her feel loved and special—that made her fall for him. We officially started dating on September 24, 2019, during our freshman year at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. But if you ask us, our first real date was months earlier—on June 1, 2019—back when we were still “just friends.” Our first official date came that fall at Dom’s fraternity formal, and we’ve been making memories ever since. From formals and game days to concerts, spring break trips, and eventually moving to Omaha and stepping into “the real world” together—we’ve already lived a lifetime of adventures. We are blessed to know that we are just getting started building our beautiful life together! On November 7, 2024, Dom pulled off the sweetest surprise proposal in Napa, California—a place we’d always dreamed of visiting together. He proposed at V. Sattui Winery, and (as if that wasn’t enough!) he planned for both of our families to surprise us at dinner afterward. It was everything we could have dreamed of and more. Napa now holds such a special place in our hearts, and we know we’ll be back again and again. From summer camp best friends to soulmates, our story has been years in the making—and we can’t wait to begin this next chapter, surrounded by the people we love most.
