A few days before DJ popped the question, he had told Alexandra that they would need to go out to the farm and attempt to move her (stationary) pickup, outback. As much as she dreaded the thought of moving her truck and dragging it out back with the tractor, she went along anyways. Once they got to the farm, DJ informed her that he wanted to take a walk out back to "check out some trees, and see what's available to cut down for wood down to camp." Alexandra was skeptical, and thought it was pretty odd to walk around just to "count trees" but nevertheless, she tagged along. During the walk down back on the farm, and making their way up the hill, Alexandra continued to ramble on about nothing and everything (per usual) as DJ patiently listened and remained quiet. The conversation ranged from serial killers all the way to what books she was going to read next. This one sided conversation continued until they reached the top of the hill, that overlooked the whole property. They both looked around in silence for a moment, in awe of the beauty of the snow covered woods throughout the property. DJ broke his primarily quiet morning, as he pointed to different areas on the property stating "This is where we're going to be building the house. And down back over here is where I shot my deer." Alexandra heard DJ rustling with his jacket, and as she turned around, DJ was down on one knee, with the box in his hand, "And this is where I ask you to marry me." In shock, in awe. And needing to be reassured that "this was NOT a joke." Alexandra eagerly said yes!
