When I met Brandon, I did not think that we would end up where we are today. I was getting my Master’s in Behavior Analysis and working a difficult job while also enjoying being by myself. Brandon will say that he was also super focused on his baseball career during the time we met and not really seeking a relationship. However, the moment we met, we knew something was going to happen, we just didn’t know what. Brandon and I met while he was in Louisville, Kentucky playing for the Bats. Two weeks after meeting, Brandon left Louisville to go home to California for the next 6 months of the off-season. We didn't know what this meant for us but we did know that we wanted to try to see each other again. A month later, we met in St. Louis, Missouri. A month after that, we met in Nashville, Tennessee. The following months would lead to me meeting his friends and eventually his family. After surviving our first offseason based off of about 4 weeks worth of visits, we felt certain that we were ready to face whatever the season had in store. Brandon and I progressed through the long distance for most of the season while he was in Cincinnati, OH and I was in Louisville, KY. Most of our relationship has been spent apart, however, we both feel as if this has pushed us to learn how to communicate in a way that meets the other persons needs. The distance has also pushed us to grow in our relationship with Christ because with Him as our core, we can overcome any challenge that comes our way! There are so many little and big things that we are excited to finally be able to experience together, but what we are most excited about is the time we will get to spend together—without flights, without goodbyes. We can’t wait to experience all this life has… together!
