On June 13th, 2020, the Tinder Match Radii aligned. Maya, who had planned to spend her summer working on campus in D.C., was home in Baltimore due to the Covid pandemic. Victor, who had planned to spend his summer in Chicago for an internship, was at his off-campus townhouse in Baltimore due to the Covid pandemic. Although Victor's initial pick-up line of "How tall are you?" was a bit lackluster, Maya decided to respond, and luckily, Victor's conversational skills picked up from there. The two hit it off and had their first date at Cylburn Arboretum in Baltimore. After a month of dates, they made their relationship official, and Victor drove from Baltimore to D.C. nearly every weekend for a year to visit Maya once they both returned to school. After Victor graduated, Maya flew to Georgia almost once a month for a year to visit him while he completed his officer training at Fort Moore. After Maya graduated, the two lived together in Georgetown, Texas for two years while Victor was stationed at Fort Cavazos. They adopted two cats together, Shasta and PJ, spent many weekends attending college football and basketball games, and went on long road trips to New Orleans and Big Bend National Park. After almost 4 years together, Victor proposed on April 27th, 2024 at Mount Bonnell in Austin, Texas. Since then, Maya and Victor moved halfway across the country together once again, returning to Georgia.
