How We Met

Coworkers to Wives

Nicole's Perspective We met in August of 2022 when I introduced myself to Kali on her first day of work. I cracked a joke to break the ice to which Kali laughed and called me a "dork". When she called me a dork I knew she was the one, but it went right over her head. After that, my goal at work was to make her smile every shift, which led to us becoming friends and talking all the time at work. Our friends, who were quietly shipping us, even tried to get us together over time. In the end, or beginning as some would say, all it took was a work trip and a random Facetime call. Eventually, it clicked for her and we've been together since, and now we're getting married! Kali's Perspective I'm going to be honest and say I don't remember calling her a "dork." I do however remember her always making me laugh and smile at work even when I was frustrated or anxious. She slowly became one of my closest friends, and someone I knew I could always talk to when I needed it. When she left for a work trip we were constantly texting about anything and everything, and that's when I started to realize my feelings for her. I wasn't ready to admit it because I didn't want to lose her if it didn't work out. Eventually, the truth came out and now I have a partner and best friend for life. So for me, it wasn't true love, but something that was built over time, still quick tho for some people, into a friendship that became something more.

The Three Proposals

The Day(s) We Said Yes!

Proposal #1 - The "Joke" Proposal We started a running joke of Nicole asking me "Wanna get Married?". I, of course, said no at first, until one day I said "One day I'm going to say yes and I'm going to mean it," which I said for a while. And then the one day finally came. She asked me to spend the night and we were lying in bed about to fall asleep. Nicole asked me the question like she had times before and I said yes, much to her surprise. She was instantly wide awake and excited. Eventually, we managed to calm down and go to sleep, but the next morning she asked me if I was sure to which I said yes. We kept it a secret for a while before we told anyone because we were nervous and scared, but everything worked out in the end. Nicole's Proposal I knew Kali was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, so it became crunch time to find the perfect ring to propose to her. After telling my parents about my wanting to propose they sat me down and gave me my mom's engagement ring that my father had given my mother years ago. So, I had a ring it was time to find a place to do it. A couple of days later while she was letting the dogs out I got down on one knee as she turned around and had the biggest smile. I asked her to marry me and she said yes. Kali's Proposal My proposal to Nicole was a spur-of-the-moment decision. Obviously, we were already engaged, but I still wanted her to feel special and have her moment. I went and got a ring one day after work knowing she would be surprised. When I got home Nicole was taking a nap, and I decided I couldn't wait and woke her up. I had already pulled out the ring before she had even sat up and fully woke up, so it took her a moment to realize what was happening. When she did realize what was happening she got a really big smile on her face and said yes before I could even ask. I still asked and made her say yes again before I put the ring on her finger.
