9:00 am - 2:00 pm
In this event, we apply turmeric to the groom so it is suggested to wear a yellow/orange (though any other color is perfectly fine too!) saree, lehenga, or kurti for women, and kurta for men
Western wear also acceptable; for western wear, the dress code is smart and conservative (cover chest, legs, and shoulders), e.g. a nice shirt with pants or a skirt.
3:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The Mehendi at 3pm will be followed by the Sangeet at 6pm.
During the Mehendi, we apply henna (mehendi in Hindi) on our hands and play some games to get to know each other to start off the wedding. The Sangeet (Sanskrit for singing) includes dinner, songs and dances, and culminates with a big party on the dance floor! Suggested dress code: formal wear (suit and tie or sherawani/kurta for men, and gagra choli, lehenga, or formal western dress for women).
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The Kashi Yatra at 4pm will be followed by Vara Puja at 5pm. Kashi Yatra is a playful ritual where the groom pretends to renounce worldly life and go on a pilgrimage to Kashi (Varanasi) for spiritual enlightenment. The bride's father intercepts him, persuading him to marry his daughter instead. The Vara Puja symbolizes the formal welcoming and honoring of the groom by the bride's family to bless and reaffirm the union. The bride's family greets the groom with offerings like fruits, nuts, and new garments for the groom's family and friends. Suggested dress code: smart casual, e.g. a kurta/kurti for Indian wear, or a nice shirt with long skirt/pants and scarf to cover chest/shoulders for western wear.

The Indian Reception will be followed by a 4-hour break, and then the Marriage ceremony. The Indian Reception involves dinner, speeches, and provides a chance for each guest to meet with, bless, and take pictures with the happy couple. Then, the Marriage Ceremony will begin at 2am. The stars have decided that 3:46am is the most auspicious time for Jamie and Divya to be married, so this will be the main moment of the wedding! Suggested dress code: South Indian formal wear (sherwani/kurta for men, and saree or lehenga for women). Western formal wear is also acceptable for those who don't have a saree/kurta.
