While we are romantics at heart, our date was chosen for practical reasons! We are getting older, dates are hard to remember, is Valentine's Day a real "love" holiday?, people may actually come to a tropical island if it’s winter where they are! But of course the practical reasons do not diminish the great love that we have for one another!
A rental car is highly recommended. There are taxis but they are not plentiful or readily available. There is a bus system, but it does not go to where the wedding events are.
In St. Croix, we drive on the left hand side of the road. However, the vehicles are your U.S. standard with the steering wheel on the left! Just remember keep left! Places here don't really have addresses that are recognized by your GPS app. When looking to go somewhere, enter the name of the place (e.g., Sweet Bottom Dive Center), and have the GPS app take you there. Directions are given via landmarks, "oh, that place is over on the north shore just behind Eat@Cane Bay".
Beach casual! This is a beach wedding followed by a scuba dive/snorkel, then the celebration.
Absolutely! We figure this is probably a great time to get out of those wintery locales and combine our nuptials with a nice family vacation.
In February the average high is 82 with an average low of 71. There are on average 7 days of rain in the month. Bottom line, it is beautiful, warm, and sunny!
St. Croix is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Therefore, you do not need a passport if you are a U.S. citizen. However, you will need a "Real ID" in order to travel within the United States. See https://www.dhs.gov/real-id for more information.

There is still time to get your scuba certification before the wedding if you really want to join us on our first dive as a married couple (see how do I become certified below). However, it is not required! You may choose to sun bathe, snorkel, play on the beach, or hang out at the beach bar!
There are a few ways you can do this. You can find a certifying agency in your local area and arrange for your certification. Or if you have chosen to make a vacation out of your trip down here, you can always do your elearning online (click on the learn to scuba dive button on https://www.sweetbottomdive.com/openwater), then you will need three days in order to finish your certification once you arrive in St. Croix. We both have a passion for scuba diving and would love for you to join us in breathing underwater!
We are not registered anywhere. Your gift to us is your presence to witness the official joining of our lives together.
Maybe, maybe not! Remember, it is an island and what we have today, may not be in stock for another week to a month. If you have something that you really must have, be safe and bring it with you!
