It's Finally Happening!

It all started on a quiet, golden afternoon while Megan was walking through the Shire of Sterling. The sounds of revelry all around. The air smelled of incense, crepes and turkey legs. She had taken that path dozens of times before, but on that day, something happened — Suddenly, stepping right in her path, there appeared a tall, kilted man with a rose basket. In his hand, he held a single rose — deep crimson, vibrant against the soft greens and browns of the Shire. When their eyes met, he smiled, as if he had been waiting for her all along. He stepped forward and offered her the rose stating, “Excuse me, but a lady as pretty as you should have a rose” She took it, heart skipping, and somehow, that simple gesture said everything. They laughed, talked, and walked the rest of the trail together, the rose between them like a promise. And from that day on, she never walked alone again…. Actually…. What happened was, Megan took the rose with an awkward smile, said “thank you” and kept on walking to her original destination. Later that day, she asked her friend who the dude was. “Oh, that’s Jon” she said. The next weekend at the Faire, she flagged down Bubbles, The Rose Fairy, knowing she would know who this mystery Jon was. Awkwardly forgetting that all the Rosies worked together the following conversation ensued: Megan: Hey, do you know Jon Bubbles: The Rosie? Megan: Yes! Can you send him a rose from me, please? Bubbles: What message would you like to send? Megan: Ummm……Thanks? And off Bubbles went on her mission…. 7 Months later…. It was May the 4th, Megan was in the file room of her office, wearing her Death Star dress when her phone went off with a Facebook message: Jonathan: “Hey, I know this is a bit out of the blue, but would you have any interest in maybe grabbing coffee or lunch or something sometime? The specifics aren’t particularly important, just interested in an excuse to sit down and talk, get to know you. If you’d be interested” Megan, having friend requested the mystery Jon with the excuse of tagging him in photos from the barbarian games, but really to stalk his page from time to time, wondering why he never spoke to her after her rose response, replied: “Hey! Sure, something sometime would be cool. :-) ” And that is where their adventure began.
