Yagnesh and I were introduced to each other through a common family friend like any typical desi couple. At first, I didn’t think much of it but the more I got to know him, the more I was attracted to him. After a few months he suggested that we meet in person. I flew down to Atlanta to see him. While I have to admit his suave demeanor was attractive, it was his sweet and thoughtful side that drew me in. Our first date was cut short! Not because of our awkward personalities but because we met on thanksgiving eve when everything was closed in Atlanta. Needless to say, We bonded over mutual love for travel, the outdoors and food! We quickly found that we balance each other out in all the right ways. Our love story didn’t start as an initial spark rather a slow burn to get to where we are today and we couldn’t be happier!
Family is very important to me and Yagnesh. He planned out the perfect proposal amidst our family with a little help from our siblings and cousins obviously. He insisted that we take some professional pictures. Yes, we posed and posed and posed by the trees and rocks and we finally got to the lake! To my surprise, when I turned around I found him on one knee holding a ring. It was exhilarating and I was awestruck. We both knew we wanted to be together for the rest of our lives. P.S. Shhh! I turned around the wrong way, we recreated the pictures.
