With over 10,000 visitors and 130+ vendors each week, the Saturday Morning Marker is the largest in the Southeast. Here you'll find fresh produce (the fresh squeezed OJ and cored/cut to order pineapple are a must), live music, food from 15 different nationalities, plants, clothing, home decor, and locally made art, jewelry, treats and so much more! The market is free to enter and runs from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. Danielle has been visiting the Market since college and spent many Saturdays there with Alex and Caramelle when she lived downtown. After visiting the Market, check out some beautiful water views and burn some calories by walking through nearby Demens Landing Park (named for one of the founding fathers of St. Pete) or along the water to the Dali Museum (you'll pass the Fountain of Youth along the way). Keep your eyes out for some prop planes taking off at nearby Albert Whitted Airport (St. Pete is recognized as the birthplace of scheduled commercial airline flights).
One of our favorite places to stop by after strolling through the Saturday Morning Market. The Dali is home to the largest collection of Dali's works outside of Europe. You can view the stunning building, walk through the garden, and visit the cafe/gift shop without purchasing admission.
Located between Dr. MLK Jr. & 16th Streets and 1st Avenues North & South, the EDGE district has something for everyone- murals, breweries (check out Green Bench Brewing and Cycle Brewing), restaurants (our faves are Red Mesa Mercado and Hawkers), trendy shops, antiques, and more! The downtown historic EDGE District is an award-winning Main Street America and Florida Main Street, committed to historic preservation-based revitalization and creating a sustainable local economy. It is vibrant and eclectic with a wide array of locally-owned, independent businesses. Home to craft beer pubs, dance clubs, restaurants & delis, art galleries, painting classes, designer apparel, hand-crafted beauty products, jewelry, vintage furniture, decor and home theatre systems.
Brocante Vintage Market offers a curated collection of furniture, home goods, and clothing. Danielle and Alex usually browse the market then visit nearby Three Daughters Brewing for a drink. After many successful years, the Market will close in December 2019, so if you enjoy browsing vintage goods, make sure to stop by!
Green Bench was one of Danielle and Alex’s favorite breweries when they lived in St. Pete. It has offers a cozy tasting room, fun outdoor space, and recently expanded to include a second tasting room. They serve beers, ciders, and mead, so there’s something for everyone!
Alex’s favorite brewery, and a must visit for each time Danielle and Alex are back in St. Pete. Cycle offers indoor and outdoor seating as well as a rotating display of works from local artists. Danielle highly recommends the Cream and Sugar, Please- it’s a delicious coffee porter that will help give you that extra boost to keep exploring all that St. Pete has to offer!
