A few weeks after graduating from West Chester University, where Kyle graduated from 2 years prior, Krista went to a music festival in New York with some of her friends. Kyle, who was living in New York at the time, ended up at the same music festival. Their groups of friends overlapped and led to Krista and Kyle meeting for the first time.

After meeting at the music festival, Krista and Kyle began texting back and forth a few times. Kyle asked Krista to come back to New York to go on a date, and then stay for the whole weekend to go to the Belmont Stakes with him and a few friends. They ended up seeing American Pharaoh win the Triple Crown, and haven’t stopped talking since.

Krista thought that Kyle was getting a bunch of his friends together in Philly for his birthday, when in reality, Kyle was getting everyone together because he was planning on proposing that afternoon. A walk through Head House Square with Ryan (best man), and Anna (Matron of Honor) by their sides, turned into a proposal and engagement party with friends and family.
