Dion and Shay officially met on December 7, 2007 at the annual field hockey holiday party during their freshmen year at American University. Before this date, they had often noticed each other at the library during study hall, so they decided to stick to the story of meeting at the library to sound a bit more studious to their families. Anyway, they hung out as good friends for a couple months before deciding to become an official couple on April 26, 2008. After graduating from college, each moved back to their respective hometowns for a couple of months before they decided to make DC their home base, and in 2012, they moved in together! Fast forward a couple of years later, they got a dog named Lucy who sealed the deal. This past May, after being together for over 10 years, Dion totally surprised Shay and proposed to her on a trip to Paris, right in front of the Eiffel Tower! Now, they will be making things even more official, and will be getting married on April 26, 2019 - their 11-year anniversary date!
