We met the way many modern love stories do, on Hinge. What started as a few messages quickly turned into weeks of texting, especially while Alexis was away visiting Hayley in New Orleans. Somewhere in those early conversations, we realized we had been orbiting the same worlds for years, including architecture, shared interests, and even the same school at one point. By the time we finally met in person, it already felt easy. Josh had been living in Portland for nearly a decade, and Alexis was building her life there too. Our first date was low key and very us. We sat in Sellwood Park talking for hours while barely making eye contact, then headed to Kay’s Bar for nachos. It was already one of Alexis’s favorite spots, and Josh was happily brought onto the bandwagon. After that, things moved fast in the best way. Within a month, we were spending nearly every day together, and honestly, we have not really stopped since. We quickly realized we shared more than good conversation. We bonded over soccer, climbing, architecture, board games, and a shared desire to help others, all while laughing our way through the everyday moments.
