Have you ever dated a classmates’ sibling? How about your middle school math teacher’s son? Why not both? This begins the tale of how Joe and Diana met. While Joe was blissfully unaware when swiping right, Diana set her eyes on a familiar target. Long gone was the long, black emo hair, but the same aloof visage remained. After a first date at a live podcast featuring the author of “The Martian” (neither Joe or Diana had read the book or seen the movie), they quickly became inseparable.

After a prolonged engagement, we eloped in a private ceremony with a handful of our closest friends. Our dear friends all pitched in to make the intimate ceremony happen. Our best friend Luke got ordained online. The best man, Marcus, packed our wedding items in his car. We all traveled to Joshua Tree National Park, carrying a 5' by 8' rug to stand upon and exchange our vows. It was everything we had ever dreamed of. Everyone cried, laughed, and cheered as they snapped a few photos that weekend. There's nothing that could have made the day more perfect... Except all of you! Even though we eloped and are legally married, there is nothing that would bring more joy to us than being able to celebrate with our friends and family formally.
