As it turns out, I did. I found a woman who is smart and wise and capable. She isn’t afraid to grow in new ways. She cares intensely for those around her. Many of you have known Dimple far longer than I have, and have already known this. As I came to know Dimple and her vision of hope for the future, I fell in love with her. In her vision of the future, she sees a house: a house connected to family and friends, a house that is full of life and joy, a house that does good for its community. We have shared and grown in this vision since our first dates. When I finally joined Hinge, Dimple had been patiently waiting for me. We matched, chatted for a while, and met up the Saturday after Thanksgiving. In addition to waiting patiently on the dating apps for me, she also patiently waited for me on our first date. I managed to be ten minutes late. Talking in a coffee shop, we quickly connected on what we were looking for in a relationship and on the importance of our faith. This last Thanksgiving, we had the opportunity to gather our immediate families. For about a day and a half the eleven of us cooked, ate, and cleaned dishes a lot. Working through difficulties with defrosting two turkeys, we smoked one and fried another one. We played board games and took family pictures. For us, this time was an image of what we want to be. We are excited to share the wedding day with you. We are grateful for everything that you have given to us throughout our lives. We were given so much in our growth as individuals and we are happy to celebrate with you as Dimple and I grow together as a union. Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; For Love is strong as Death, longing is fierce as Sheol. Its arrows are arrows of fire, flames of the divine. Deep waters cannot quench love, nor rivers sweep it away. Were one to offer all the wealth of his house for love, he would be utterly despised. (Song of Songs 8:6-7)
