Please be sure to check recent online reviews for safety, cleanliness, and overall guest experience. Please note that some lower-priced hotels do not initially disclose additional taxes and tourism fees, which can make the listed price appear cheaper. Always confirm that the final price includes all applicable taxes and fees before booking. Booking.com offers a wider range of hotels and hostels; however, some of its third-party suppliers may offer lower-quality services or facilities. Most of our events will take place at our family homes in Wantagh and Hicksville. The Gurdwara that we are getting married is located in Plainview. All of these locations are close to one another, typically within a 10–15 minute drive. Recommended areas for Airbnb accommodations include Wantagh, Hicksville, Plainview, Merrick, Bellmore, and Westbury, all of which offer convenient access to our event locations. For guests planning to use public transportation, the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) is most easily accessible from Wantagh, Hicksville and Bellmore. Alternatively, Airbnb’s map view is a helpful tool to compare available homes and choose the most convenient option based on distance.

The LIRR (Long Island Railroad) is an effective way of getting around Long Island. However, unlike Singapore, public transportation outside of New York City—particularly on Long Island—runs less frequently. Trains and some buses may operate every 30 minutes to an hour, or even less frequently on weekends. Certain bus routes also run on restricted hours. We therefore recommend reviewing your train, bus, and Uber schedules in advance. Please also factor in road traffic, which can be heavy and unpredictable on Long Island, similar to peak traffic conditions in major cities. Tickets & Payment Some transportation networks allow contactless credit card or mobile wallet tapping, including the JFK AirTrain (e.g., JFK Airport to Jamaica Station) and most NYC subway lines and buses. Other services—particularly the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR)—require tickets to be purchased in advance, either at station counters, ticket machines, or via the MTA TrainTime app. While tickets can be purchased onboard the train, this option is more expensive and may sometimes require cash only if card systems are unavailable. We strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance whenever possible.

1. Please note that the nearest airport to the wedding venue and the Bhatt residence is JFK International Airport, which is also the most popular airport serving New York City. JFK is located on the southwestern shore of Long Island, making it the most convenient option for travel to our events. 2. If you are considering Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)—which is located in New Jersey—please be aware that travel to Long Island may involve significantly longer travel times, higher transportation costs, and additional tolls. Unless you plan to stay in New Jersey for extended travel before or after the wedding, booking flights to and from JFK is generally more convenient and cost-effective.
