Dillon and I met in college at Missouri State University. It was August 16, 2013 and I was moving into the dorms on my first day of college. Dillon was a junior at the time and had come up to say “hi” to my new roommate. And as fate would have it, I met my future husband on day one of college while unpacking my toiletries! About a month later, I ran into Dillon at an Alpha Chi Omega dance. I had to have my roommate reintroduce me because I had totally forgotten his name! To this day, he won’t let me live that one down. We ended up spending the whole night having a blast talking, laughing, and dancing together. We’ve been together from that night on. After college graduation, I moved back home to St. Louis and Dillon stayed in Springfield. Saying goodbye, not knowing when we’d live in the same city again, was one of the hardest things we’ve done. But six months later Dillon got a teaching job in St. Louis and just like that we were back in the same city and couldn’t be happier! On July 5, 2018 that happiness grew by a thousand! Dillon planned the most amazingly perfect proposal and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. He took me to a dock, tucked in the trees of a quiet park, overlooking a pond and a waterfall. He arranged for two of my best friends to decorate the dock with twinkly lights and pictures from our years together. It was the most perfect, romantic, and special moment in my life. When he asked me to marry him I don’t think I could have said “YES” fast enough! We are so excited for what life has in store for us. We know that this life isn’t perfect but it’s pretty darn close when we’re together. June 1, 2019 can’t come fast enough!!
