Dillon and I met through my dad. They had worked together and became great friends. After hearing my dad go on and on about how great he was, I Facebook stalked him and sent him a friend request (yes, I'm that person). After almost a year of admiring from afar and quietly liking each others posts and pictures, I finally decided it was time to shoot my shot. Being friends with my dad, he was a little apprehensive about it so he didn't say much. After some time had passed, I decided to take one final swing before accepting defeat. My obvious wit and charm seemed to do the trick this time! From that moment forward we spoke every day for weeks and with my dad's blessing, Dillon asked me on our first date. We went fishing, took a beautiful walk along some trails, then finished the evening with dinner. And the rest is history <3

For our one year anniversary, we decided to take a week off and go camping in the U.P. After hours in the car we finally made it to Mackinaw City. Dillon told me he wanted to get out and walk along the beach so we could see the bridge and take some pictures. We walked along the beach sifting through the sand and picking up rocks. Once we walked all the way down and got to a secluded area of the beach, Dillon says "I want to start this trip off the right way" He pulls a box out of his pocket, gets down on one knee and asked me if I would let him love me forever. Through my happy tears I said "YES!", and we were engaged.
