Yes! Our baseline attire guideline is "semi-formal", but if you would like to dress up a little more for fun, we're all for it! Check out this link if you need ideas or guidance: https://www.brides.com/semi-formal-wedding-attire-4800687
No, not at all - we have a registry as ideas for folks who have expressed interest, but we do not have any expectations beyond getting to spend the evening with our loved ones!
While Barrio Queen does always play an excellent variety of Latin pop music (including many of our favorite artists), we do *not* have a dedicated dance floor or playlist within the restaurant space. We are working with the restaurant to find the best table arrangement to try and keep a good "mix and mingle" space, since it's hard not to dance along a little bit!
When planning what we wanted our wedding to look like, we found ourselves very inspired by the recent growing trend of "adventure elopements" - a day focused around starting the big adventure of marriage with a literal adventure, and having nature instead of a venue. We wanted to spend our time fully focused on each other on our own terms, without a traditional agenda.
Our actual wedding day is on October 17!
That's a surprise! Start your guesses now, because we will have a guessing game at our reception dinner, and whoever guesses closest will get some fun souvenirs! Your hint: It is somewhere in the continental United States, west of the Mississippi.
Update - YES! We will have several photos to share from our adventure and could not be more stoked!
Yes! As of Thursday, Catherine is *very* excited to officially be Mrs. Catherine Burke!
Yes! Why miss out on a chance to dress up twice?
