Most of you know how we met (Tinder!), and that we have been together for six years. But did you know that in those six years we have been to one new country, nine national parks, and ten states together? Or that we had one year where we spent 30 nights in our tent?! Or that we have camped, kayaked, hiked, and fished our way through every summer since we've been together? We've had our share of misadventures - usually car trouble, such as the time Dillon took the rental car keys swimming and killed the electronic part, or the time the clutch went out in ole Dynamite, and our lovely friend drove across the state of Wyoming (while pregnant!) to rescue us and bring us home. Or our new camp trailer getting a flat tire, the first time we took it out, and Dillon laying in the gravel on the side of the road, trying to fix it while Alana "helped". Geeze, we thought we had misadventures before! We didn't predict we'd be rescheduling our wedding due to a global pandemic! But, as Dillon said, there is no one we'd rather postpone our wedding to than one another. Ha! Stay tuned for updates. Every adventure and misadventure tells a story, and they all remind us that we can survive any of life's misadventures, big or small, especially with the support of each of you. Last year we added Murphy, our new adventure buddy, to our little family. And sure, we might not be able to visit as many national parks with him in tow, but he makes every adventure more fun! We finally decided it was time to make the big commitment, and become Adventure Buddies for Life! We hope you can join us as we say our wedding vows! And then send us off into our next big adventure, Marriage, with a celebration!
WE ELOPED! On August 8, 2020, in the presence of four parents, two siblings and their spouses (who are also like siblings and we love dearly), and five dogs, we eloped in the beautiful Bridger National Forest, in an area where we love to go camping and exploring together. After our corona-postponement, we were met with a series of reminders: life is unpredictable, and shorter than you'd think; love is essential to make it through; and none of us are guaranteed tomorrow. We couldn't wait any longer to be married, to become partners in the eyes of the law, as well as in our hearts. So we didn't. We took the limes and lemons tossed into our cake batter plans, and made margaritas with them instead. We hope that you'll join us in raising a glass wherever you are, and celebrating love.
