Our Story

In March of 2019, we matched on everyone's favorite dating app (we'll let you guess which one that is). Sarah was living in Iowa and hanging out with friends for International Women's Day and Max was moving into his new apartment in Chicago. Max started the conversation with a simple, yet thoughtful, "Hi Sarah, how's your night going?" What we didn't know was that we actually lived in different states! To this day, we still don't really know how we matched, but apparently it was meant to be. Despite the 220 miles between us, we quickly found ourselves looking forward to chatting every day, our bond growing stronger with each conversation. We realized we had the same "bar schedule" in college (DC's fish bowls then Brother's, obviously) and even had some mutual acquaintances. A month later, Max made the journey to Iowa to meet in person, and the rest, as they say, is history! Max started a new job in Florida in March of 2020, which happened to be the start of COVID. Sarah joined a few months later. Moving across the country during a global pandemic wasn't exactly the plan, but we decided to make the best of it! We tackled our “Florida Bucket List” by taking trips to St. Augustine, Key West, and Disney World. Along the way, we adopted Stella, the tallest and goofiest brown dog from a rescue in New Orleans, who became the heart of our family. During that time, we also made a trip to Dallas, a city we instantly fell in love with. So, in May of 2021, we packed up and made the move. After two years, filled with great adventures and new friendships, we decided it was time to put down roots in the Lone Star State. In June of 2023, we officially settled into our first home in the cutest suburb of Dallas. It was there, in the place we'd made our own, that Max decided to pop the question, with Stella proudly wearing a bandana that read, "Will you marry my dad?" We’re so thankful for all the love and support over the past six years, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you! Get ready for a weekend of food, fun, drinks and dancing! Love Always, Max & Sarah
