Question

Do we have to take the ski lift to the top of the mountain for the ceremony?

Answer

Yes - but if you want to skip this part of the day, we totally understand! During the ceremony, you can feel free to have a drink in the lodge and watch the ceremony live streamed or arrive a little later to join us for cocktail hour. Please wear or bring shoes that you can walk comfortably in on a gravel or grassy surface. This ride to the top is about 10 minutes and offers breathtaking views!

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR THE CEREMONY?

Answer

We kindly request you at 3:00 pm for the ceremony. It takes about a half hour to get all guests up to the top of the mountain via chairlift for the ceremony.

IS THERE PARKING FOR THE CEREMONY OR RECEPTION?

Answer

Yes, there is ample parking available in front of the venue. Wedding guests are welcome to leave their car overnight at the venue, there is 24 hour security on the premises. Alternatively, we will be providing a free shuttle from the Windwood Inn and other neighboring hotels for anyone who prefers not to drive.

WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN?

Answer

The ceremony site will have a platform with chairs for guests to sit on overlooking the Catskills Mountains. Guests will not have access to a bathroom at the mountaintop, so please plan accordingly. It can get chilly, so a light jacket is recommended.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

Answer

The Lift Operations Director at Windham makes the final call about whether the ceremony will be at the summit, or re-located indoors. Regardless of the weather, there will be a ceremony!
