Jackson and I lived five houses down from each other starting in 2008 and somehow went seven years without ever speaking — despite frequent sightings of him playing outside and his childhood dog occasionally running straight into our house. We finally talked freshman year of high school in 2015, started hanging out, and on November 20, 2015, Jackson asked me to be his girlfriend. We graduated high school in 2019 and headed to Florida State University together, where something called COVID briefly interrupted our college chapter. Once we returned to FSU, we moved into our first apartment together in August 2021, graduated in 2022 (me in May, Jackson in December), and officially started our adult lives. The years that followed included a six-week attempt at living in Dallas, a move to Atlanta, two cats named Sheldon and Schmidt, and a return to Tallahassee. In July 2025, after a morning of golfing and an accidental full meal at Zaxby’s that replaced a planned beach dinner, Jackson proposed during a walk along the beach at St. George Island, Florida. We moved to Mobile, Alabama in October 2025 and can’t wait to see where life takes us next.
