Looking back, it feels like our story was always unfolding in the background. We grew up in the same circles—high school, sports, and mutual friends kept crossing our paths—but somehow, never quite at the same time. Years later, after college, we reconnected, and everything finally clicked. When we first gave dating a try, life had other plans. Careers, new responsibilities, and the growing pains of “adulting” took center stage, so we chose friendship over forcing something before the timing was right. For the next three and a half years, we stayed close friends. Finally, the timing aligned, and we decided to give things another shot. From the first date on, everything started falling into place, and before we knew it, our dogs became best friends. At that point, there was no going back.
