It all started in the most unexpected place- behind the walls of a prison. One of us (the one in uniform) was a dedicated correctional officer, keeping order and watching over the daily operations. The other (with the clipboard) was a psychologist, assigned to provide mental health services and support programming. We crossed paths while working on the same housing unit, where our days were filled with teamwork, problem-solving, and the occasional shared glance that said “I see you.” What began as teamwork turned into lingering conversations after meetings, shared smiles during long shifts, and inside jokes whispered down the hall. Somewhere between security checks and counseling sessions, we found something neither of us expected in such an unlikely place- each other. And as our story grew, so did our shared love for Disney- just one more reminder that life is better with a little magic. Now, we’re trading in keys and clipboards (at least for a little while) for vows, cake, and a lifetime together. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!
