COVID-19 Update

We were looking forward to celebrating our wedding with all of our family and friends on April 18, 2020. Due to the fluctuations in Nashville's re-opening plans with respect to COVID-19, we have decided to limit our postponed wedding reception in August to immediate family and wedding party. We are disappointed that capacity restrictions on gatherings and the uncertainty of the months ahead have forced us to make such a difficult decision. Though we would love for every person to be able to attend, our ultimate goal is to keep everyone safe and healthy. We are so grateful for the support you have shown us over the last few months, and we want you to know how much we love you and wish we could have all celebrated together. Our special day will not be the same without you. Love, Drew and Sara

Our Story

When Drew and I were dating, we found out that our parents, coincidentally, have the same wedding anniversary. My parents, Mark and Sandi Diehl, were married July 1st, 1978. Drew's parents, Todd and Joyce Naylor, were married July 1st, 1983. When we got engaged, we thought that it would be sweet to share the same wedding day, but we figured out that July 1st wasn't a Saturday for about five years. So, we excitedly planned for April. Last summer, however, we got the feeling that we couldn't let July 1st pass without doing something. So, we called our parents about three days before and asked if they could come to Nashville and help us get married on Monday. I think that maybe I lost my mind a bit studying for the bar? Who knows! But, we pulled it off! We found a wonderful minister, and at 10:00 am on July 1st, 2019, we were married in the front yard of our house on Fannin Drive. We had cake from Shirley's Bakery and lunch with our parents. Our parents shared wise words about making it 41 years and 37 years through all things that life may bring. Drew and I feel blessed to have shared the morning with our parents, but then we made them go home! :) Drew and I enjoyed the rest of the day, just the two of us. We even pulled out the bluetooth speaker and had our first dance in the backyard. If you're a 90s country fan, give "When I Said I Do" by Clint Black a spin. April 18, 2020 was meant for all of us - Mark, Sandi, Todd, Joyce, Drew, and I - to renew our vows with each of you as a witness. We are sorry we can't do that with you as planned. While we are disappointed we cannot celebrate with each one of you, we feel lucky to have had such a special day July 1, 2019. Check out our "Photos" page to see a few pictures from the day.
