El Yunque National Forest - Visitor Center
Wyndham is within close proximity to the famous El Yunque, the only tropical rainforest in the US National Forest System. Here you can enjoy beautiful hikes to scenic waterfalls, swim in natural pools, and ziplining all while enjoying the beautiful views of the coastline and mountains. Make your own adventure!
Viejo San Juan
Old San Juan. Take a step back in time while enjoying historic views, pastel-colored buildings, traditional foods, and shopping, all about 30 minutes from the resort. Cobblestone streets, colorful & historic art, as well as the iconic forts El Morro and San Cristóbal. Easy half, or full day trip from the airport or resort.
Piñones
Neighborhood about 10-15min from the airport, and about 45-60min from the resort offering a more local experience with scenic coastal drive, beach stops including Luquillo beach. Enjoy famous roadside food stops and try authentic bites such as bacalaítos alcapurrias, empanadillas, and fresh coconut drinks. Great for a casual afternoon of exploring.
Luquillo Beach
A beautiful beach very close to the resort, located close to Piñones. Calm, swimmable water with palm trees, perfect for a relaxing day or for a quick stop on the way to Fajardo or El Yunque.
Bioluminescent Bays
Bioluminescent bays are a must see including: La Parguera, Laguna Grande in Fajardo and Mosquito Bay in Vieques. Laguna Grand is about 25-30 minutes away from the resort, with nighttime kayaking tours guided through the mangroves. Mosquito Bay is one of the brightest in the world typically requiring a ferry or flight. La Parguera is located on the southwest side, about 2.5-3hr drive where you can swim!
Coffee Experiences / Tours
Explore various coffee plantations for a unique day trip off the beach. From plant to cup, you will learn about how the scenic coffee fields within the lush central mountains of the island, ending with a taste of freshly brewed Puerto Rican coffee. An immersive experience.
Culebra
A small island off the east coast It is best known for Flamenco Beach, regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Typically take a ferry from Ceiba or short flight from San Juan. We recommend booking tickets in advance, for a perfect day of snorkeling, beaches, swimming, and beautiful views.
