We met in Glendale when my mom and I moved upstairs above his apartment. My mom told me there was a Hispanic family with a son downstairs around my age, but I didn’t think anything of it. I actually became friends with his mom first since I would always see her and the kids. I didn’t officially meet him the first couple months because he went on a tour for work for about a month. Since we never saw each other, on my birthday I forgot my house keys inside when we got back from dinner. The moment he went outside, he saw me suspiciously crawling through the window at night with my dad, which he never met either. All I heard was, “uh you guys need help?” with no intention to actually help thinking we are breaking in. My dad told him we were the new neighbors and that I left the keys inside, to find out the keys were in the car the whole time. We still didnt really see each other or meet that day. When he got back from his tour, my mom saw him again, since she met him previously, and hired him to help us with some furniture. That’s when we officially met for the first time. A few days later I texted him to thank him for helping us out. From there we talked more and started hanging out going to car events. I never thought moving to Glendale I would meet my future husband. I didn’t want to move because they didn’t allow dogs, but we wanted to move as soon as possible, so I settled. Who knows where we would be if I said no and tried for a place for dogs. There’s no other man I would want to live my life with. -Alissa
It all started when I heard that new people would be moving in to our building. It wasnt until late July that her mom reached out to me when I was cleaning my car, and she asked me if I could help her pick up some furniture, she said that she would have her daughter contact me to let me know when. With no time in advanced, her daughter (my now soon to be wife) texts me the same day they want me to help them pick up the furniture lol. It was her brother, her and myself that went to pick up the furniture. Pretty much the whole time it was me and her brother talking and she was just sitting quietly in the back. Few days passed by and she again texted me thanking me for the help. As the days passed by we started talking more and hanging out more, going to car events with her brother and friends, going to the LA county fair with her family and slowly growing our relationship. I would take her to school and pick her up and we would hang out before and after her classes. As the days went by we started to love eachother more and more. There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t have a good time together, we are always laughing at our randomness together. Who would’ve thought that the quiet, shy girl in the back of the car would now be my soon to be wife, the cherry to my pie, my other half. The love of my life! -Diego
