On a fateful Saturday, May 25th, Chris and Didy met at a birthday party hosted at African Palace Restaurant - an event space in St. Louis, Missouri. According to Didy, her elder sister Nelly was invited to the birthday party, and their younger sister Beatrice wanted to tag along but wanted Didy to join them also. Didy was at their Uncle’s house spending time with their cousins, when Beatrice pleaded with her to join them. Didy reluctantly obliged, and they later picked her up from there on their way to the party. Just by pure happenstance, Chris’ friend the party’s DJ also asked Chris to chaperone him to the event. Chris said he couldn’t make it, that he was too tired to drive, so the DJ elected to drive Chris there himself, that’s how Chris and Didy ended up at the same event. Chris later revealed that he was captivated from afar when he first saw Didy smile while chatting with her sisters. He walked up to his friend the DJ and whispered; “See that girl over there, she has the best smile ever”. Didy also confirmed that when she locked eyes with Chris for the first time, she told her sister Beatrice that Chris would come talk to her before the night was over. As Didy was leaving the party with her sisters, the final music of the night and her favorite song at the time “Limpopo” by Kcee came on. She got back to the dance floor and was dancing to the song when Chris approached her. They introduced themselves to each other and exchanged phone numbers; from that moment on, as they say, the rest is history! Inseparable, their journey has been filled with adventures and explorations. Myriads of travels, movie nights, lots of laughter, spending time with family, and growing their faith together. Years later, on a trip to St. Louis, at the same location where they first met, Didy thought they were just meeting a friend there when Chris knelt and popped the question. The date May 25th is not just any date for these two because it will forever be intertwined with their destinies. Didy picked this same date, their anniversary, Saturday, May 25th, for their African traditional wedding. They are extending to you a warm invite to be part of their new life’s chapter, and are immensely excited to catch up and celebrate with you on their special day. #TillDaWheelsFallOff
