They first met in May of 2015. Didlee's dad had a talk at Mattapan, and surprisingly, Katy’s service group was hosting hospitality. At the time, Didlee seemed to be very quiet and introverted, while Katy was just awkward. To no one's surprise, they didn’t end up having any type of conversation that night. However, exactly a year after, they saw each other again at a party hosted by a sister in Katy’s hall! This time, they did indeed have a conversation and even shared their first dance. Katy was nervous as heck, considering it was her first time dancing with a guy, but Didlee was a pro. And this is how their friendship began. Fast forward to 2019, the year that truly formed their friendship. During this year, they learned about each other's personalities, lifestyles, families, hobbies, etc. Didlee was incredibly patient as Katy opened up slowly. Spending more time together, their friendship grew. This also allowed Katy to get close to Kenny and Jahime. When COVID hit and everything went virtual, they didn’t expect their friendship to last, but they spoke daily through FaceTime, making it feel like they were face to face. Feelings started to develop, but they both knew they had things to work on. Once everything was figured out, in March of 2022, they told their parents about their intentions and feelings. Their parents were excited and supportive. Finally, in October 2022, they went public. Fast forward to this year, Didlee popped the question on October 13th, 2023! Now, they are eagerly waiting for August 11th, 2024, when they will say "I do" to forever.
