Hi Friends and Fam! We are exactly 9 days away from celebrating the union of Tonya and Didi! We feel it is important to share with you some important updates so you can feel as prepared and as comfortable as possible for the day: We have confirmed 63 guests for the outdoor, tented, heated ceremony and reception. Keep in mind this wedding will be held in our backyard— Please be considerate of neighbors’ driveways and spacing. Tonya and Didi will be reaching out to a few of you personally to discuss the potential of several familiar guests meeting, parking, then carpooling from a hotel less than 5 minutes away, in order to free up spaces for vendors and older guests. Upon arrival, we will be asking all guests to do the following: 1. Arrive with mask on; 2. Use hand sanitizer; 3. Sign in to guest book; 4. Complete and submit symptoms survey; 5. Agree to temperature check from designated medical professional. ***All of this means that your timely arrival is KEY. The processional is set to begin at 1pm. Please plan to arrive and be seated by 12:30.*** For the duration of the event, we are asking that all guests keep masks on as often as possible, aside from when eating or drinking. We also encourage you to wash your hands often, by using the portable restroom trailers that will be on the property. All vendors will be completely masked, with catering staff also wearing gloves. Considering the current climate, we completely understand if you wish to refrain from attending the event, or leaving after the ceremony. ***Our only ask is that you NOTIFY us by MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9, if your mind has changed.*** Additionally, if you encounter individuals or settings that increase your risk of exposure, please let us know ASAP, and we can discuss a plan of action. Please feel free to reach out to Tonya or Didi with any questions, comments, or concerns. We love you all! Didi and Tonya
He was a fine looking man, living in the city of Brotherly Love. A Nigerian immigrant. She was a Jersey Girl, a daughter of Jamaican immigrants. He'd had transformations over the past 3 yrs. She had been busy that year, doing The Work. Self Work, Career Work, Mom Work. Transformative work. He was mentally, emotionally and spiritually ready for something new. Something different. She wanted the same-- but wasn't sure if it would come her way. He found her on OKCupid. He was excited! They both wanted a Christ centered, family-oriented partner. Check! But—She wanted Celibacy. Ha! He decided he would see about that, as he's not one to backdown from a challenge. He sent her a message, and let it be. 2 weeks later, She was on her couch, bored and flipping through Netflix. She decided to open her dating app, and to her pleasant surprise, there was a rare occurrence—a nice message from a nice-looking man. Naturally, she replied. To his surprise, she was pleasant, courteous, with a great sense of humor. Could everything be aligning the way they've always wanted? One text conversation led to another, until weeks later, when they decided they just had to put a voice to the face and text. She texted him her phone number—or so she thought. He called, he texted. No answer. No reply for 24hrs. Nada. He was certain he'd been "ghosted". She similarly thought he was not serious, and promptly went to block him from the app— and there she realized her mistake. One.Digit.Off. She gave him the wrong number! This set off a series of apologies, forgiveness, and great conversation, which set the tone for their budding friendship and relationship. After hurdling one more tech difficulty and some side eye moments (ahh, online dating-- so fun!), their first date was on December 15, 2018, at the South Jazz Kitchen in Philly, where they also took their first selfie. From that moment on, they have been inseparable-- growing, praying, laughing, overcoming, and aligning-- as part of God's plan.
Hi Everyone, Just wanted to keep you updated. Weather: With the ever changing weather reports we wanted to advise that you wear warm clothing, boots and/or closed shoes. This is to ensure that you are comfortable and well prepared for the outside fun we will have at the wedding. Photography & Recording: During the Wedding, specifically the ceremony we ask that there be no recording or picture taking. Due to the videography and photographers we have hired we would like to have seamless memories captured. Also please refrain from posting and recording any of our wedding on any social media platforms. We ask that you send them to us and also consult with us before releasing these. Questions or Concerns: Any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to our Day of Wedding Coordinator Naomi. She will be happy to help you. We are excited that you will be apart of our day ! See you tomorrow
