How We Met

September 28, 2018

After both working long days, Jessica at the hospital and Evan selling door to door, their friends individually convinced them to go downtown Syracuse to have a few drinks. Of the many bars in downtown Syracuse, both groups found themselves at Al’s bar. The groups met and mingeled. Evan stood out to Jessica because of his infectious laugh and smile. Jessica stood out to Evan because of her laid back attitude and gorgeous eyes. Both too shy to be the first to say hello, fate had to intervene. As the rest of the group went to get drink refills, Evan and Jessica were designated the seat holders. Left alone on the bar’s couches they finally got to chat. For the rest of the night they were stuck to each other like glue, to them there was no one else in the bar but them. They laughed, talked, and danced all night. From that night on their relationship blossomed. After weeks of being inseparable, on a cold night while watching Shrek, Evan asked Jessica to be his girlfriend. And so began their story. It could only be fate that brought this California boy all the way to the east coast to go the same bar on the same night as his future wife.

The Proposal

September 5, 2020

During the couple’s first big vacation together, Evan planned to propose. What could be a more perfect setting than Kauai? The travel plans as well as Evans proposal plans didn’t go as smoothly as hoped. Due to flight changes, the couple didn’t land in Kauai until late at night. This completely ruined Evan’s sunset propsal on the pier idea. The ring had been literally sitting in Evans pocket for a week now so there was no way he was going to wait a day more. Despite a long day of travel and it being close to midnight, Evan convinced Jessica to walk down to the resort’s private beach. It was pitch black, only the moon light and the flashlights on their phones lit a path. The beach was empty because most sane people don’t wonder the beach in the middle of the night. Quite, private, and calming ocean waves crashing on the beach with a warm breeze made it a perfectly intimate moment. Of course, Jessica was more concerned with the strange noises coming from the woods behind giving her more creepy vibes rather than romantic. Alas, Evan wasn’t giving up. He brought Jessica in close. Jessica could feel his heart pounding out of his chest. Evan reached in his pocket to reveal the object he has been working so hard to hide, and he got down on one knee. He asked her to marry him and she said yes.
