Peter was awestruck when he stumbled upon Christi on Instagram. He made several attempts at sparking up conversation to no avail. As fate would have it, three years later the two bumped into each other at a bar downtown. Christi still wasn't ready to accept she had met the man of her dreams. Fortunately, with Peter’s persistence, Christi eventually agreed to a free ride home from the airport with a quick stop for dinner. Peter knew right away the search was over, however it took Christi a little longer to realize hers was too…six months to be exact! Thankfully for COVID, Christi's work travel ceased and the two were able to share quality time together and strengthen the bond between them.

On August 10, 2021, Grandma Tilly left behind a beautiful heirloom, which Christi’s mom passed on to Peter (Hint, hint). Fast forward to Christmas time, where Peter used the ploy of “going shopping” with Christi’s parents to ask for permission to take their daughter’s hand in marriage. Hesitantly, her father agreed, and the planning began. On a cold Sunday morning, Christi thought they were going to brunch at their favorite spot in Winter Park to celebrate their two-year anniversary. Since they were all dressed up, Peter said he wanted to go take a picture at a park nearby, where there was supposedly a beautiful tree. Christi, cold and hungry, wanted to go straight to brunch, however was coaxed into the photo op. Once at the park, they walked across a bridge over a pond, grabbed a quick pic and headed back towards the restaurant. While crossing back over the bridge, Christi saw a group of people on the other side, squinted her eyes and said “Is that my family?” Still not putting two and two together, once across the bridge, with her attention on her family, Peter got down on one knee, cried like a baby and asked Christi to marry him.
