Tom and Kaela met in the Law and Public Service program at Colts Neck High School. After 2 years of friendship, Tom finally gained the courage to "escape the friend zone" and asked Kaela to be his girlfriend on a rare snowy November day. Tom and Kaela celebrated their 10 year anniversary of dating on November 7th, 2022.

If you know Tom and Kaela, you know they both love the Jersey Shore. Every year, the two make sure to visit Jenkinson's Boardwalk, walk all the way down past their favorite house that always plays Frank Sinatra, to their favorite spot at the Inlet. On May 14th, 2022, Tom set up 10 wooden blocks each with a flower and an excerpt from Kaela's late grandfather's song book that related to every year they were together. These blocks led to a beautifully decorated arch where Tom got down on one knee and asked Kaela to marry him.
