Callejón del Beso
Go and visit the romantic "Alley of the kiss" and learn the story behind this famous balcony! Don't forget to get your picture taken with your loved one, just like ours above! Remember to have pesos handy to pay photographer!
El Pípila
This is where you will go and get the best view of the city! There is also the famous statue of "El Pipila" dedicated to the city's local hero. There are also lots of little shopping and food stands up here, so grab a snack and enjoy the views! Three ways to get up are by taxi, the funicular or walking up.
Museum of the Mummies of Guanajuato
It is listed as a "Thing to do" on any forum/blog post when visiting Guanajuato! It is a quick little museum that we recommend you do. Two ways to get over are either a taxi or walking. This is also a stop on most city tours.
San Miguel de Allende
Another cute little town, about an hour and a half out of Guanajuato City. Would recommend to allocate a day for this trip because of the drive there and back. Hire a personal driver or take a taxi out there. Best to book a taxi or driver with your hotel! Another must visit when coming back to visit my mothers family here in Guanajuato.
Cristo Rey
Go and visit Cristo Rey the second biggest Jesus statue in the world behind Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Also, it is the EXACT CENTER of the country of Mexico! You will find stunning views of the state here. To get here take a taxi, bus or a private driver. Best to book a taxi or driver with your hotel! This was always a must visit when coming back to visit my mothers family here in Guanajuato.
