Health, Safety, & FAQs

We are committed to a COVID-19 safe wedding ceremony and reception. Below is information regarding our venues as well as answers to a few important questions. If you have any further questions or concerns please reach out to us! The Furman Chapel and the Poinsett Club are very large venues with high ceilings and space to accommodate over 300 people. We kindly request that guests respect social distancing and use hand sanitizing stations provided.
Question

Will guests be required to wear a mask at the Furman Chapel?

Answer

Yes. The Furman Chapel is on the campus of Furman University. As a part of university protocols, the Furman Chapel is requiring all guests to wear a mask upon entry and during the ceremony.

Question

Will there be enough room for social distancing of 6 feet or more at the Furman Chapel?

Answer

Yes. The Furman Chapel is operating at 50% capacity and seats just under 400 people. Since we will have a smaller number of guests, we are confident that everyone will have plenty of space. We ask that family units sit together and also those who are traveling together.

Question

Are masks required of guests at the Poinsett Club?

Answer

We request that guests wear a mask when in close contact with others. If guests would like move about the hall or dance on the dance floor, we ask that everyone respect social distancing.

Question

Will there be enough room for social distancing of 6 feet or more at the Poinsett Club?

Answer

Yes. We have arranged tables accordingly and will keep family units together. The hall has very high ceilings and can accommodate over 300 people. If the weather is fair and temperature mild, we will use the adjoining patio area and keep the doors open.

Question

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

While we love your little ones, this will be an adult event. Only members of the bridal party and immediate family will be bringing their children.

Question

What is the reception set-up? Seated dinner or served buffet?

Answer

The reception is a served buffet. Guests will not be serving themselves. There will be a server behind each station assisting guests with food.

Question

Will there be dancing at the reception?

Answer

Yes! If guests would like to bust a move on the dance floor, we ask that everyone respect social distancing or wear a mask while doing so. Dancing at your table is also highly encouraged!
