How We Met

12/12/12

We met in our Investment Analysis class at USF (University of San Francisco) in early 2012. I had a plan already prepared on how to meet Diane before we even met... stay tuned to hear more about this story at the wedding!

The Proposal

8/13/19

After dinner on a random Tuesday date night, we walked along Pier 7 as part of our normal custom whenever we are around the Pier. “Our bench” has the most perfect view of the glistening Bay Bridge and the Ferry Building. We sat down, and Stephen looked at me and said, "I have something for you." He reached into his pocket and took out a flatter, wider box - certainly not a ring box like I thought! I opened it and it was a Tiffany infinity necklace. He said a few sweet words, but this was a mere distraction from the actual event for the night. We walked down Pier 7 and decided to walk back. As we walked back, I noticed there were several mason jars in a circle in the middle of the pathway. Stephen asked me to put my stuff down. I thought, “Here? Now?” He walked towards the circle, reached into his pocket, and pulled out a tiny remote. He pressed a button and lights in the mason jar lit up! That’s when I knew. He took my hand, walked me into the circle, and went down on one knee. And the rest is history!
