I’m taking a plane/train to Boston- what’s the best way to get up to Rockport from there?

Answer

This is the one pain in the neck. Here are a few options, with different times and prices: (A) taxi or lyft (1 hour drive, ~$115), (B) renting a car from the airport (1 hour drive, $90/day), or (C) using public transit (2 hours): From the airport, take a taxi or silver line bus (SL1 to South Station, and SL3 to Chelsea) to the Chelsea commuter rail stop. Take the Newbury/Rockport Line up to Rockport. At this station you're less than two miles from the inn. You can take a cab or take the Blue Line bus from the Rockport Train Station up to the Pigeon Cove Post Office and it's a 5 minute walk from there. NOTE: the commuter rail train frequency varies, so you'll want to confirm ahead of time that the timing lines up for your flight and the train. How does the hotel booking work?

Answer

The Emerson Inn has 34 rooms, and our wedding will fill it for the whole weekend! We're sending this info first to the first 34 rooms' worth of out-of-towners and close family, to make sure you're all set. Please (1) RSVP yes to both nights AND answer the question that you want to stay in the inn, and (2) call the hotel to claim your room. Then we'll share any spare rooms with more local folks, and use another nearby inn as a fallback.

What if I can only stay one night?

Answer

We're trying to fill all of the rooms for both nights, and that special $150/night rate is designed to help everyone come for the whole shebang. If you'd like to stay for just one night or the other, please let us know in the RSVP so we can try to work something out!
