I took her out to the lake. We stood on the rocks, throwing our cares beneath the blue surface. I didn't have a ring yet but I couldn't wait any longer. From my wallet, I took out the two most important things that I had been carrying with me since I first asked her out. The movie ticket from our first date and the receipt from the restaurant I took her to on our second date. She cried (I almost cried) and she said yes. And I just held her as we stood there looking at the moon reflected in the water, ready to take the next step.
