Who knew we needed a world wide pandemic to bring us together?! When the world was shut down due to Covid, two people thought it would make sense to get back into online dating. On December 28, 2021, Diana noticed a handsome guy with a photo of him curling and decided to like it. Within 4 mintues, Bill started the conversation and the rest his history! Little did they both know, their future *hinged* on finding a way to meet up in the middle of a pandemic. With jokes of needing hazmat suits to meet up, unsure of when it was safe to meet up and thoughts of needing reservations for our first date to then show up being one of the only tables seated...Covid certainly made the start of our relationship a unique start for sure! One thing that was certain in meeting in those uncertain times, from our first date on 3/1/2021 there was no turning back. We were truly meant for one another!
It was a spring weekend, and Diana and Bill had tickets to see Impractical Jokers show in Boston that Saturday. (This was a show they were supposed to see the Impractical Jokers in February, but due to a cold snap, the pipes at the Wang Theater burst and the show was rescheduled.). Fast forward to April, after some persuasion, Bill decided to make it a weekend in Boston to see the show. After some work conferences that both Bill and Diana had, they headed into Boston Friday night. The weather wasn't looking promising for the weekend, so after checking in to the Park Plaza (nice work, Bill!) they headed over to the Boston Public Gardens. This was a place they visited for Diana's birthday the year before, and Bill knew Diana would love all the flowers and trees in bloom. As they strolled around, Bill pointed out a flowering tree to go check out (especially after their recent trip to Washington D.C. to see the cherry blossoms). As Diana takes several pictures of the same tree branches, Bill made sure Diana didn't move from that spot. Before Diana knew it, Bill was down on one knee asking her to marry him! Of course, without an ounce of hesitation, Diana said "yes!". The public garden was not very busy, but thankfully there were two women who captured pictures of the proposal! After many thanks and exchanging photos, Bill and Diana continued to stroll the public garden while calling their families! The celebration continued at the Intercontinental Rum Bar for rum old fashions, Bill and Diana's favorite! After celebratory cocktails, and despite still being in shock, they headed over to Limoncello's in the North End for a delicious dinner! An incredibly thoughtful surprise was waiting for them back at the Park Plaza, some perfectly chilled champagne, thanks to Diana's parents, to cheers to their engagement!
We will be getting married at the Aldrich Mansion in Warwick, RI on Friday April 19, 2024! We can't wait to have our families and friends be a part of this very special time in our lives! See you in Rhode Island!
