Italy is allowing entry from the countries of the EU and the Shengen Area with a negative swab test, without compulsory quarantine. Travellers are still required to produce on arrival a negative molecular/antigen test (taken in the 48 hours prior to arrival). GB arrivals have to do 5-day self-isolation upon arrival (the rule to be reviewed at the end of July). All guests will need a vaccination passport in order to attend. The passport is currently in the form of a paper certificate proving that the holder has either been vaccinated (one dose is enough) OR has had Covid-19 and recovered OR has shown a negative test result within the previous 48 hours. Italy is currently on the UK's Amber list. It might be added to the Green list by August - the announcement will come out on/around 5th August (with any new rules coming into effect the following Monday). If Italy then turns Amber again, people have to fly back by 31st August to avoid the quarantine back in the UK.
