If anyone would have told either one of us we would meet the love of our lives at a bar in Manalapan, NJ, we probably would have laughed in their face. But there we were, on Chris's birthday. Having a drink, laughing at travel agency ads, and borrowing hoodies with no intention of returning them. Somewhere in the midst of it all, we fell in love. We didn't even notice the first night. A few weeks went by and we saw each other again. This time, neither one of us let the other get away. After convincing a mutual friend to play matchmaker, we finally had a first date. It only took a few more dates before we realized what we had gotten ourselves into. Some people look for love, but we just wandered into it with each other. Six magical years later, we get to ask our friends and family to come and celebrate that little bit of magic that brought us together all those years ago
The plan was perfect. A road trip to his favorite city to go to her favorite place. A day of riding roller coasters and having fun. A little walk to Diagon Alley in Universal Studios. A picture taken in front of a painting of the Dark Mark she has tattooed on her arm. She turns around after. And there's her boyfriend on one knee holding his mother's wedding ring. The execution included an allergic reaction to hair dye that swelled up her entire face, the photographer missing the trip altogether the day of, an all day torrential rainstorm that turned the entire park into a collection of waterfalls, and a backup photographer becoming extremely ill as the time drew near. Never one to be deterred, he managed to wrangle an employee to leave her job to come take pictures and video of the magical moment (after having to explain that she has to "KEEP IT TOGETHER" as she exclaimed that she was going to cry at how cute it all was). After taking the picture when she started walking away he held onto her hand and pulled her back saying "I'm gonna marry you". To which she responded "I'm gonna marry you too". But upon turning around to respond she found him down on one knee with an ever growing crowd of onlookers gathering around. One heart pounding question and the crowd quite literally went wild as she said YES. The perfect ending to the most perfectly imperfect proposal.
