This is the winery that Diana works, and one of the best in the area. Try the Wild Acre red wine! They just won the Monticello Cup for it against 600 other wines from the area.
Bold Rock Nellysford Cidery
The cider from here is the best in the area! They also recently opened a distillery.
Virginia Distillery Co.
This is the best whiskey distillery in the area! Our brother-in-law, Russ, played a huge role in the gorgeous woodworking in the tasting room. It's a gorgeous space and offers a cool tour!
Devils Backbone Basecamp Brewpub
This brewery and distillery is definitely worth the visit. Owned by Anheuser-Busch, they have some of the best beers, craft cocktails, and distilled spirits in the US. In October, they have fire pits and a hay bale maze for the kids and adults alike.
Blue Mountain Barrel House & Smokin' Barrel Restaurant
This is the closest brewery to our farm, and we often enjoy a cold brew here! It has a sister location in Afton, VA. Both are great!
Wood Ridge Farm Brewery
This brewery has some of the most authentic craft beers (they grow/roast their own malts) and such a cool vibe! It has a really cool cabin on the pond that can be rented for accommodations. This brewery has so much to do: a Corn Maze, a driving range, cornhole, and live music on the weekends!
King Family Vineyards
Good wine, and they have free Polo matches every Sunday morning! Bring a picnic!
Veritas Vineyards and Winery
They have good wines, and they're a great place for the whole family. They do Starry Night Series in the fall with live music. Check closer to the date to see if this is one of the weekends!
Three Notch'd Brewery, Distillery & Craft Kitchen - Nelson County
The newest brewery on 151. We are eagerly awaiting the outcrop of this popular brewery from Charlottesville! It should be open by the time of the wedding weekend! It's right down the road from Bold Rock and Devils Backbone!

Crabtree Falls
Easy-Moderate hiking trail with beautiful waterfall overlooks! Great trail where Diana's sister got engaged. It's a family favorite!
Humpback Rock
This is Diana's favorite hiking trail in Nelson. It's got a great view from the top. It's a little steep at times, but it's not super long. Highly recommend this trail!
Blue Ridge Tunnel Trail, East Trailhead
This trail is relatively easy, but make no mistake, you're hiking up a mountain. Diana actually rolled her Dad up the mountain on this trail to see the inside of the hand carved railroad tunnel and marvel at the history of how it was constructed. Wheelchair and stroller accessible. Wear a headlamp or bring a flashlight! The tunnel is super cool!
The Rotunda
This is the Jewel of the University of Virginia, where Diana went to undergrad. It's surrounded by the historic Lawn and pretty gardens, designed by Thomas Jefferson. The University offers tours of this building. Pro tip, go all the way upstairs! It's beautiful!

Designed by Thomas Jefferson, this is a good historical visit if you're staying in Lynchburg!

This is the most popular orchard right around Charlottesville with beautiful sunsets!
