How We Met

Two states, one God-sized plan.

If you had told Michael he'd find the love of his life on a dating app while living a thousand miles away from her, he probably would have laughed. Michael was living in Dallas, Texas. Diana was in Washington, just a few miles from where Michael had grown up. Of all the places and all the people, somehow they found each other through a Christian dating app. Go figure. But here's the thing — this story was being written long before either of them knew it. Growing up, Michael and Diana went to churches right across the street from each other. They rode the same train route into Seattle for work. Their lives had been running parallel for years, and they had no idea. It took a thousand miles of distance to finally bring them together. Michael wasted no time flying out to meet her. Their first date? Fish tacos and lobster rolls on the Edmonds boardwalk, walking along the beach, talking like they had known each other forever. It was one of those dates where you don't want the night to end. It wasn't long before Michael found his way back to Washington — back home, and right where he was always meant to be. And on a beautiful beach along the Washington coast, a golden sun slowly going down on the horizon, he dropped to one knee and asked Diana to be his forever. Now they're getting married, and honestly, neither of them is the least bit surprised. Some things are just meant to be.
