If you ask Beto: Life has a funny way of coming around full circle from passing each other by in the halls to hanging out at the same friends house to never speaking. We aren’t your modern- age Tinder meet-up or set up by friends. We knew of each other but didn’t know each other. I remember the night I saw her downtown with her friends (she wasn’t of age, big no-no Diana), spending hours just talking outside her house. I thought there was something there. I pursued to no avail and eventually gave up hope. We eventually decided to meet up, and we hit it off right where we left off last time, laughing and smiling, and it felt like time slowed down. I even remember my first move on her; I awkwardly grabbed her hand and mustered up the courage to kiss her. From hanging out daily to telling my friends I had a girlfriend before she knew she was my girlfriend to eventually getting our first apartment together, becoming homeowners, and adopting Buki, we have been through it all. 2017 started the beginning of us, and 2022 was the best decision Diana could make. Ups and downs, highs and lows, we have always been there for each other. We have traveled and will continue traveling the world together, from lying in bed watching the Notebook 100+ times (no exaggeration) to random Dodger games on a weekend just because… to riding ATVs through the jungle of Costa Rica. There is no better bird I would soar the skies with than with you.

If you ask Diana - The night that changed everything will forever be one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. I was young, lost, and struggling, unsure of where I was headed. As cliché as it sounds, that very night, I asked the universe for help—and then Beto appeared. To be honest, we didn’t immediately click, but it was clear the universe had brought him into my life for a reason. On the night of May 5th, he didn’t even ask me to be his girlfriend; he simply said, “I told my friends I have a girlfriend,” and I smiled and said, “OK,” before giving him a kiss. Every relationship has its highs and lows, those beautiful moments and the tougher times, including disagreements. But the best advice my mother-in-law, Esther, ever gave us was, “Never go to bed angry with each other.” I can't imagine my life without Beto. He’s been my constant, my partner in everything, and together, we’ve made it this far. Both Buki and I are so blessed to have you. I look forward to the future, whether it’s exploring the world together or filling our home with even more puppies!
