We met at our former high school, Ouachita Parish High School. Diamond first laid eyes on Mike during one of his basketball games, while she was cheering on the sideline. After the basketball game, a group of their friends planned to meet at the Race for the Cure Fundraiser. Michael and Diamond sat and talked for hours during the event and even afterwards. Neither of them expected a friendship to blossom from that conversation. Diamond admits that she was so intrigued with Mike's goofy/ corny personality that she wanted to know more about him. The two departed for a few years, but only God knew that their time in college would reunite them! This time around, they were determined to write their future TOGETHER!

On their anniversary, April 22, 2017, Mike proposed to Diamond. Little did Diamond know that this particular anniversary would be filled with countless surprises. The proposal took a lot of brainstorming while searching for the perfect place to pop the big question! After taking time to prepare, Mike planned to propose to Diamond at the Reunion Tower in Downtown Dallas, Tx. After work on the day of the proposal, Mike laid out a sexy dress, (which Diamond hated) and shoes. Once Diamond arrived home from work, Mike told Diamond to get dressed. He had arranged a romantic dinner for the two of them at Wolf Gang Puck Five Sixty, a restaurant that rotates and shows a beautiful view of the city of Dallas at every angle from their table. While at the restaurant, Mike arranged for special anniversary menus to be made and the two were served a 5 course meal and wine. On the balcony of the restaurant, as the sun begin to set, Mike had a special table placed outside with rose pedals, a photo of the couple, and glasses of champagne waiting to celebrate their engagement. As Mike walked Diamond onto the balcony, Diamond did not notice the table because she was amazed by the view of the city. Noticing that Mike wasn't standing beside her, she turned to find Mike behind her on one knee, waiting to ask her to be his lifelong partner, wife, and to carry his last name. Diamond instantly begin to cry and kept saying "yes, yes, yes!!!"
