Our story began when we matched on a dating app in January 2021. A month of chatting and FaceTime talks finally led to our first in-person coffee date. It was only then that Christy would believe that I was a human. What started as a simple first date turned into a memorable Valentine’s date the next day. We celebrated Valentine’s Day most unexpectedly — with McDonald’s in the car while sitting looking at the water from the warf. In the middle of our meal, Christy suddenly choked on one of her French fries and frightened me half to death. Thankfully, everything turned out fine, and what felt terrifying at the moment has since become one of our favourite funny stories. That same day also marked our very first kiss, making it a Valentine’s Day we will never forget. May led to our first trip together to the beautiful St Andrews, New Brunswick. A few months later, in July 2021, our relationship took a big step forward when I moved in with Christy. Living together helped us grow even closer, and during that time Christy helped me overcome something I had always been afraid of — the water. With her encouragement and patience, I started to learned how to swim, something I once thought I would never do. In 2023, we shared another incredible milestone when I took my first cruise with Christy and her family. The trip took us to beautiful places like Barcelona, Corfu in Greece, and Rome, where we explored the ruins of Pompeii. One of the highlights was visiting the Barcelona Stadium, home of my favourite football club, and walking through the colourful Spanish Village. We also experienced something unforgettable together — watching the active volcano Stromboli erupt in the distance while standing on the deck of our ship. Over the years, our lives and cultures have blended in wonderful ways. Christy celebrated Diwali with me for the first time in 2023, lighting sparklers together, and in 2024, she celebrated Holi with me in our backyard. Along the way, she also discovered a love for making and eating indian cuisine. Chicken butter masala has become one of our favourite meals to share. Through every adventure, big or small, we have grown together and built a life full of laughter, curiosity, and support for one another. As we begin this next chapter, we are excited for everything that lies ahead — building our own home, travelling on many more cruises, spending quiet moments together, and time with friends, family and our furry children of all sizes and shapes. What started as a simple swipe has grown into a lifetime partnership, and we cannot wait to continue writing our story together.
