So we started talking online, a GCU group chat. We texted back and forth for almost two months the summer before our freshman year. I was always told to go into college single, but this man made me not want to. He was already on campus by the time I was moving in, and we had never met. But this sweet man offered to help me move into my dorm room. He knew that meant he'd be meeting my mother, my grandmother, and my grandpa. He was totally okay with it! So he was on his way and I was so excited to meet him, but also so nervous. I knew at this point that I really like liked him, and I didn't want things to be awkward. So I get a text that he was on my floor of my dorm building, but needed to be 'buzzed' in. So I left my family in my dorm room, and went to meet him on the hallway. That 15 second walk from my room to the hallway door felt like an instant, but I knew the second I looked into his eyes that my life was about to change. I eeked with excitement, and he was like HIIIIIIII! I would argue that it was love at first sight. I could tell he was a bit nervous too because his face was so red! I remember thinking it was so cute though. So we walked back to my room and I introduced him to my mom and to my grandparents. He was so charming and respectful! Not only that, but he did what he said he would! He helped us move heavy furniture, he helped me hang up my decorations, you name it. I could see how much he truly enjoyed just simply helping me, and I know now what I felt then, that I would want him by my side for the rest of my life.
On a romantic drive through Boulder, Colorado. We stopped at one waterfall and hiked for a few seconds. Next thing I knew he gave me a sweet letter, but interrupted me. It was okay tho cuz he was holding a beautiful ring!! He asked if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, OF COURSE I SAID YES! Then a nice lady gave us $50 to go out that evening!
