I can't quite pinpoint the moment I became aware of Don Gates, but during my Sophomore year, Don would say hi to me every time we crossed paths. I thought he was cute right off the bat. After a few months of greetings in passing, the opportunity finally arose for us to have our first real conversation. While setting up for a Last Day of Classes dance a week before Christmas Break, one of my classmates asked if I could run to the store and look for some white table cloths. When I saw Don after that conversation I told him that we needed to go grab some white table cloths (notice how I said "we";). Don and I then drove around to 3 or 4 different stores looking for white table cloths. During our conversations he told me about his ambitions after college and his trip to Patagonia with his dad. Our conversation was fun and easy. Once we got back to campus and parted ways, I rushed over to my friend Lydia and gushed about the conversation. I was hooked from the very beginning. A few days after that night we were all headed home for Christmas Break and I was hopeful I would get to see him again during the new semester. - Sarah I CAN pinpoint the exact moment that I became aware of Sarah Gallagher. It was on the Intramural Soccer field and I was blown away - and no it wasn't her soccer skills. At this point in my life, fall of 2016 I had basically given up on dating. But I remember that moment, seeing the most beautiful girl I had ever seen at Wheaton College, and thinking to myself that maybe dating wouldn't be such a bad idea. It took until January 2017 for me to muster up the courage to ask Sarah on a date. Following the events she described, I went from hopefulness to determination to make Sarah mine. After a month of going on dates, Sarah and I became "official" on the steps that overlooked lake Michigan at Alder Planetarium. And two and a half years later, at that same spot, we made it official for life. How did I get so lucky? - Don
