Wedding Party

Jay Anderson

Best Man

Dennis and I met through a mutual friend waaaay back in 1999 at a club in Richmond. A few years later after I moved to DC, I was playing pick up volleyball and recognized Dennis across the net about the same time he recognized me. After a couple plays, we both said, “hey, you look familiar” and from that moment a friendship was formed. Over the next several years as we hung out with the same friend group, we grew closer and eventually became inseparable as best friends. In fact, we like to think we coined the term “NSLP” (if you know you know, if not ask Dennis). Back in 2019, Dennis was best man in my wedding when I married my Greg (yes, of course we would both end up with a man named Greg). I am honored to be standing beside my best friend when he marries his Greg and I wish them the best as they start the next chapter of their life together. Love you both!  xoxo

Best Man

Greg and I first met a little over a decade ago at a Happy Hour event in Hartford. We bonded over the years through a mutual affinity for pop divas, broadway musicals, and sh*t-talking. Ride or die friends who will alway be there for one another no matter what messes needed to be cleaned up.

It is always special when you can say you’ve been friends with someone for over 20 years. It started when Dennis and I were both in new places in our lives. I had moved to the East Coast from Indiana, working outside Baltimore, and Dennis was exploring a new chapter in his life, while continuing his long educational journey. Our paths took both of us to the DC area, where we have been able to grow our friendship through adventures around the world and in our own backyard, and by being there for each other at times of joy, change, and sadness. Dennis has been a strong source of encouragement and support, especially when I made a career change from higher education to Capital Pride and then when I was hospitalized during the pandemic. His kindness, drive, and zest for life is truly inspirational. It has been exciting to witness Dennis begin his relationship with Greg, and I am thrilled for both of them to start this next chapter of their lives together as husbands.

Picture it: Hartford, Connecticut, 2017... The annual summer concert series at Elizabeth Park is presenting its final show of the season. A group of friends is gathered for their traditional picnic of wine and snacks while the music of a local band floats in the breeze. One of the friends, Andrew, arrives with two new additions: Greg and his sidekick, the illustrious Lily. Greg immediately hits it off with the whole group, but he and Jen bond over a shared love of trashy reality TV. The friendship blossomed from there, and after countless Housewives nights, late-night talks, and harrowing road trips to the Deep South. I could not be happier that Greg has found his soulmate, an equally amazing human who enthusiastically accompanies this crazy duo on their quest to meet low-level Bravolebrities across America. I am overjoyed to stand with Greg and Dennis on their big day and wish them all the best in their new chapter!

20 years of friendship! Trying to find the best way to break this down without writing a complete book. CHAPTER 1: “How we met” We first “met” online via one of the old school websites like Connexion or Friendster. Finally, after long online conversations and exchanging cell phone numbers on our flip phones, we briefly met in person outside of JR’s in DC. I was heading to swim practice and he was heading in for happy hour. After a few attempts at dating, we continued our connection as friends over the next few years seeing each other out at local bars, house parties, etc. CHAPTER 2: “The Start of a Best Friendship” A rafting trip to West Virginia is what brought us closer with a strong reconnection which lead me to join him and Jay on their trip to Gay Days in Orlando. We came up with so many inside jokes that were only known to just us. Chapter 3: “2009 – 2019” Life before Greg This chapter is full of crazy group trips, numerous dance floor memories, our own version of the Hangover (Atlanta style), relationship survival and therapy, milestone birthdays, every sports league possible, Stop and Shop life changing moments (insert Bambi here) and marriage proposals. Chapter 4: “Now” Feeling blessed to have a forever best friend and brother to share and navigate the ups and downs of life. We have been through it all together and I am so excited to be witness to the next chapters of Dennis’s life with Greg. I love you boys and will forever be here for you both!

A little over 40 years ago my parents went to the store to buy me a gift from my new little brother, who was expected any day. Little did they know, Greg would be in such a hurry to make his appearance, they had to rush to the hospital without a gift! Fast forward many years, Greg has taken his time to find his perfect partner in Dennis. I'm honored to be a part of their special day where I get to stand with my brother and welcome my new brother to the family!

I’ve had the immense pleasure of having known Dennis for over two decades and what can I say that you haven’t heard or already know about Mr. Mendoza? The man is kind, generous and just an all around incredibly loving person. The lengths he’ll go for family and friends to ensure their happiness is boundless. This is why I’m happy to bear witness to his union with Greg. These two make each other so happy and my friend deserves all the love and happiness in the world. Congratulations Dennis and Greg!

Greg and I have been friends for nearly two decades. We met in Syracuse through mutual friends. A few years ago Greg, Keith and I met in DC for Greg’s birthday weekend getaway and it was that weekend he met Dennis. It was very clear there was a mutual attraction between the two. Soon talks OF Dennis became visits TO Dennis, and it became clear that Greg had met a truly wonderful guy. I wish my friends Greg and Dennis a lifetime of caring and love.
